Poll: Sixty-three Percent of Americans Want the White House to Share Solyndra Documents

Atlanta, Ga. – (MediaQuire) November 7, 2011 – Most Americans believe the White House should comply with a subpoena from Congressional committees demanding the White House turn over documents related to the Obama administration’s $535 million loan guarantees to the now-failed solar energy company Solyndra.

Sixty-three percent of Americans say the White House should comply with the request, while 20% disagreed.  Seventeen percent said they had no opinion on the question.

The White House has refused to comply with the request, which a White House counsel recently dismissed as a “vast fishing expedition” and a “significant intrusion on Executive Branch interests.”

Republicans favored White House disclosure of the documents by a 89%-7% margin, Democrats opposed it 35%-34%, and independents called for disclosure 65%-19%.
