(MediaQuire) Good news!  The Teen Battle Chef Cook-Off that took place last Thursday February 23rd. Despite the student chefs not quite being Iron Chefs yet,  Dr. Oz, his wife Lisa Oz, Bravo’s Chef Rocco DiSpirito, and Delicatessen’s  (and Iron Chef America Challenger) Chef Michael Ferraro were on hand as celebrity judges. HealthCorps—a wellness movement with a peer mentoring program in 53 high schools in 13 states—held the cook-off to formally announce and celebrate its new three-year partnership with USANA Health Sciences.

Each student teams shared their unique recipes and demonstrated how to make Kenyan Styled Mixed Greens as well as Collard & Golden Beet Soup. The cook-off wasn’t merely about bragging rights, it was moreso about fighting to spread the word on the importance and fun of healthy cooking and eating, or as one teen chef called it, sharing Teen Battle Chef knowledge via “food activism.”

This is a positive project sponsored by  HealthCorps and USANA Health Sciences’mission to help the youth community make healthy eating and living easier.
